THE AUSTRALIAN swing dance championships
Come along and join in or watch all the excitement and action of the Australian Swing Dance Championships 2024. A fantastic night to be entertained by some of the country's best dancers competing for great trophies and National Titles.
Competition dancing has always been a part of the Lindy Hop scene and was always a highlight at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem. The ASDC caters to all levels of dancers, with several events, including Balboa, Teams Event, Collegiate Shag, Solo Jazz and the ever popular Mix n Match (prev. titled Jack n Jill) where no set partner is required.
If you’re a newer competitor, the energy, comradery and support from fellow competitors will put you at ease and we can’t wait to see you on the dance floor and cheer you on!
For those not competing, Social Dancing will also take place throughout the night, so everyone gets a dance.

The Deco Dance
Experience the glamour of the Deco Dance, as you don your dapper attire, or dress up in your finest vintage.
This year we are heading to the beautiful Marrickville Town Hall – built in 1922. This is a wonderful Art Deco space.
This will be a night full of dancing with a fabulous live band – Kate Wadey and her Presidentials, DJ’s, welcome snow ball and the Shim Sham. Don’t miss this highlight event of the weekend!
Limited on-street parking, so consider car pooling, Uber or public transport. Public transport is close at hand with buses travelling down Marrickville Rd and Marrickville Train Station a short 5 minute walk away.

Looking to continue the dancing into the wee hours of the morning? SLX Up Late has you covered..
Lazy Bones Jazz Bar has been a favourite Jazz venue of Sydney’s scene for 11 years. A relaxed vibe with so much atmosphere will set the party mode. Dance floor surfaces include timber, carpet and tiles. We recommend slippery soled shoes to suit all surfaces. A licensed bar with snacks available will help take your dancing till the wee hours.
This is a non-BYO event.

Swing Out at The Colombian
Join us for the official closing party of SLX 2024. Dance with your new friends and party till we meet again at next year's SLX or another national event.
The Colombian Hotel Cocktail Lounge is the perfect venue for our last event of the weekend. A perfect venue to relax, have a drink, or just Swing Out!
Featuring huge plush booths, the cocktail lounge boasts original high ceilings with classic finishes and a huge luxurious marble bar with fluted brass detailing. The space is elegant, intimate and comfortable with huge floor to ceiling windows giving view to the iconic Oxford Street.
Our live band for the afternoon will be Cope Street Parade, and our DJ's will ensure the dancing never ends! A surprise performance may also take place.
Say good bye to new friends afterwards with a drink at the rooftop bar
