Australian Swing Dance Championships

Polish Club Ashfield has a large dance floor and lots of seating for spectators that will provide a great atmosphere for our first night of SLX 2024. A night to compete with or spectate some of Australia’s best Swing Dancers, as well as social dancing opportunities.

Venue: Polish Club, 182 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield
Legals: All ages event (U18’s must be accompanied by a parent) / NO BYO / Full Bar and Bistro facilities

SAT 31 AUG

7:30PM - 11:15PM

Deco Dance

Experience the glamour of the Deco Dance, as you don your dapper attire, or dress up in your finest vintage.

Held in the beautiful Marrickville Town Hall, built in 1922, a classic example of Art Deco architecture

Limited on-street parking. Consider an Uber, taxi or public transport. Public transport is close at hand with buses travelling down Marrickville Rd and Marrickville Train Station a short 5 minute walk away.

SLX Up Late at Lazy Bones

Lazy Bones has been a favourite Jazz Venue of Sydney’s scene for 11 years. A relaxed vibe with so much atmosphere, will set the party mood. Floor surfaces include timber, tiled and mainly carpet. Please wear slippery soled shoes (i.e. leather) to suit all surfaces. A licensed bar and snacks available will help take your dancing till the wee hours.

This is a NO BYO event.

SUN 1 SEPT 

2.00pM - 6.00pM

Swing Out at The Colombian

Finish the weekend off dancing at the fabulous art deco cocktail bar at The Colombian Hotel. Chill out with a few drinks, dance up a storm, hang with your new swing friends from SLX, and enjoy Cope Street Parade. A special performance may also occur. Have those last drinks and chats with your new SLX Friends from 2024 afterwards at the rooftop bar.

This is an over 18's licensed venue with full bar service available. No BYO food or drinks will be permitted into the venue.
